I'm enjoying these photo's from Dvur and I can't wait to see more from the other Czech zoos, I particularly enjoy your detailed information attached to most of the photo's.
Can't wait for you to get to Plzen and Prague... (Hint, hint! )

(you'll probably find a few fewer exhibit shots when I get to the 'two P's' as quite a lot of the enclosures are covered by my 2010 photos. Plenty of good stuff though!)

I'm just looking forward to seeing Plzen with animals in the African/Asian section. When you last went I gather it wasn't quite finished and all you saw were empty houses and paddocks, it must look better with the rhino, giraffe and others filling the gaps!
Just out of interest what other zoos did you hit whilst over there?

Prague Zoo
Prague Terrarium

Dvur Kralove (evening visit after checking in to Safari Camp!)
Dvur Kralove (the next day!)
Liberec Zoo
Decin Terrarium
Decin Zoo
Dresden Zoo
Usti nad Labem Zoo
Chomutov Zoo
Akva-Tera (Pilsen Terrarium)
Pilsen Zoo
Pilsen Zoo (again! Zoohistorica day 1)
Prague Zoo (again! Zoohistorica day 2)
A good trip! Only Prague, Dvur and the Pilsen collections were return visits for me so a lot of new places seen (and around 30 mammal taxa I'd never seen before - albeit many of those offshow - there are perks to these Zoohistorica events ).

That's one impressive list, you know how to make a man jealous!
Which of the new collections surprised you the most? And were there any major shocks or totally unexpected occurences?
Probably Dresden, but only because I'd not heard great things about from people who'd been. Those with me who'd been before confirmed it has improved greatly in the last few years. As for shocks and surprises, there's always a few - butmost of all nothing quite prepared me for the actual reality of the new Underground exhibit at Pilsen (of which more in due course!).
Looking forward to seeing more of that already!
As for Dresden, it's not really a zoo I've heard much about and again I'm looking forward to seeing more!
