They recently refurbished the gyrfalcon chamber, adding lower windows, more natural light, rockwork, and a mural. It's a nice improvement over the dark hard to see nesting chamber it was before. I believe these chambers were orginally built for breeding birds for release, but now are home to display animals, and the breeding is all done off exhibit. They currently breed northern aplomado falcons and California condors for release.
