African Elephant stall.
African Elephant stall.

Are those circles on the ground poles that can rise up and split this space into seperate areas? That's a cool design feature.

P.S. This photo almost looks like one of those computer generated pictures that architects make to give an idea of what a future exhibit will look like.

Yup, they rise from the floor like part-time street bollards - the stall can theoretically be split into eight (although one section would be entirely taken up by the pool) or I imagine variations thereof.

Ha! Yes, it does a little! I do like shots that show visitors and animal as well as enclosure - gives a good feel of the zoo I always think.

Both this and the glass-fronted Prague Giraffe House look/feel halfway toward Museum 'Dioramas'. Not sure if I like them or not. Having seen them firsthand, what do you think?

And I agree, this one does resemble those computerised 'artist's impressions' of forthcoming exhibits!:D

I really liked both houses except for the sealed-off glass viewing, which cuts the animals off from the visitors a little too much (though this may be beneficial to the animals?).

How much larger is the elephant house than what we see in the photo, and how many eles do they have in here?

This shows about two-thirds or so of the main area and houses two (three?) females (the bull is housed separately).
