Thank you very much! The tamandu was free-roaming and came right over to me, and I snapped about 20 close-ups. On of the best zoo experiences I've ever had.
That's amazing! I've been close to a tamandua before, but there was always mesh between us and it ruined the photo. But perhaps it's a good thing Buffalo Zoo has that barrier as I witnessed a teenage boy poking the tamandua with his gatorade bottle this summer. I may have to visit this zoo one day.
It would be nice to have another member on here in Kansas City. Topeka is about an hour or so from Kansas City, a nice drive for this plesant zoo. The zoo overall isn't anything great, but the rainforest is very nice, with free-roaming muntjac, sloth, and, of course, tamandua.
