Topeka Zoo 2011 - Black and White Ruffed Lemur Exhibit

It's extraordinary to think that this was once considered acceptable for gorillas and orang utans. Am I right in thinking that there is no outdoor accommodation attached to these units?

For a zoo that could once justify the title "the world famous...", Topeka seems to have been on its uppers for much of the past two decades, since Gary Clarke stepped down as director. Why do you think this is so? Is it because the zoo was, to an extent, over achieving during Clarke's tenure, and was so heavily associated with Clarke that its relative decline after he had gone was almost inevitable? Or has it just been badly managed during the past two decades?
