Thanks for posting photos of the updated Wild Life Trek complex. Do you want to do a mini-review?:) When I visited Tulsa Zoo in 2010 I was very disappointed in the aging infrastructure of the four buildings that were constructed around 35 years ago, as I noticed peeling paint and chipped walls in all directions. The revamp doesn't seem to have added much, and the Grizzly Bear exhibit is still mainly all cement. Obviously Wild Life Trek has improved the condition of the buildings, but is it a significant upgrade?

What's the next major project for the zoo? Rhinos and Tigers?

Glad you're enjoying the photos. Unfortunately a glitch with my memory card caused me to not get photos of the other two buildings, "Life in the Forest" and "Life in the Water." I will be going back again soon to take pics of those.

Yes, I will post a complete review soon. The short version is that the renovations improved the physical condition of the buildings and some of the habitats, and added a few interesting new species to the zoo's collection, but in total is somewhat of a dissapointment mostly because I expected so much more. Also there were deletions and design changes that I feel diminish the total experience formerly provided by this complex.

Groundbreaking has already taken place for a new Rhino exhibit in the area that is currently the African savannah. It is supposed to be completed in 2014. The "Lost Kingdoms" complex, featuring new habitats for Malayan tigers, Snow leopards and Komodo dragons is slated to begin construciton in 2014. I have high hopes for these, particularly the Lost Kingdom, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they won't be a disappointment.
