Now this is the kind of picture I love to see from big cat enclosures!

a few questions on this exhibit:
1) how are the cougars kept in
2) how do visitors view the public ie glass or normal mesh enclosure?

i must say it does look very good

This exhibit is one of two for cougars (the second one has the Florida panther subspecies), and the enclosures are open-topped and probably amongst the largest of their kind. There is a traditional wire fence with an overhang and electric current all around, but White Oak Conservation Centre is not actually open to the public and therefore very few people visit. There might be a few other photos in the gallery of the cougar enclosures.

thank you, i have found the other photos (typically a few of which show the fence:rolleyes:)

sorry don't know much about US zoos, i've just googled the centre

thankyou:D
