new porcupine exhibit

July 5, 2013.
This park is a rescue center for unwanted native wildlife and they have virtually no funding. All of their enclosures are built by volunteer youth corps. However, this is probably the ugliest one in the whole park. Now that you mention it, most of the other ones have metal poles and not wood.

I think vogelcommando meant that porcupines would gnaw through the wood rather than commenting about the aesthetic quality of the enclosure.

Zoo Boise also has a wooden porcupine enclosure, however the wood that is exposed to the porcupine is covered in wire, minimizing gnawing opportunities.
