Umbrella Cockatoo Exhibit

Aug. 3rd, 2011.
This exhibit is ugly and sadly barren, but frankly I have never really seen a great cockatoo exhibit ANYWHERE and this doesn't look much different from others that I have seen at other zoos. San Diego has a pretty good red-tailed black cockatoo exhibit. The Bronx had an okay palm cockatoo exhibit in their bird house.

@snowleopard: Have you ever seen a great cockatoo exhibit in your zoo travels or even some good ones? I did my master's thesis on cockatoo phylogenetics and biogeography so I have a special interest in them.

I don't believe that I've ever seen an excellent cockatoo exhibit in a zoo, as usually those birds are placed in tiny exhibits that do not allow for much space for flight. Sydney's Botanical Garden has large flocks of wild cockatoos that are spectacular to see, and together with the fruit bats that is an outstanding tourist attraction that is a must-see for all Aussie visitors.
