cheetah exhibit

September 15, 2015
Yes it is a fine exhibit and on par with many I have seen at AZA facilities. Of course the best cheetah exhibit in the country as at their near neighbor Phoenix Zoo, so it is hard to compete there. But this is very nice with grass coverage throughout, a lookout mound, two adjacent shade trees and a back fence lined with bushes. I would like if it were bigger, but it is by no means tiny.

If you want to get a sense of scale, there is a cheetah sitting down in the grass. It is between the two wood fence posts towards the right (just above and right of the light colored cinderblock post).

Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium & Safari Park is a privately run zoo that has a high entrance fee (around $35) and certainly one of the 20 best animal collections of any zoo in the country. There is a Reptile House, Small Mammal House, 15-acre Safari zone, 4 different aquarium buildings, several rides, loads of ungulate paddocks and seemingly everything else in between and it takes the bulk of the day to properly tour it all. However, the enclosures would best be described as "home-made" and in truth there are several rows of bird aviaries and primate cages that resemble what you would find in a third world nation.
