This is an OTTER exhibit? Where's the pond?! Please tell me this is just the den and that there is a nice exhibit outside with a large pond and lots of room for otter romping, and that the whole exhibit is not a closet with a forest mural and no pond.
This is the ENTIRE otter exhibit, and there is a second one that is remarkably similar. However, the zoo has another aquarium complex (its 4th aquarium building!) opening in the next few months and there will be a new small-clawed otter exhibit that might also have an outdoor section. Can anyone confirm that?
Yes, this is a temporary otter exhibit and the new aquarium building will have an indoor/outdoor otter exhibit that's the good news. The bad news is, this exhibit was designed for ocelot!

Now that the 4th aquarium building has opened there is a brand-new indoor/outdoor Small-Clawed Otter exhibit. I'm not sure if the one in the photo still holds the species, but here was the second otter exhibit that I saw on my visit in 2011 and both are horrendous:
