Woodland Park Zoo - River Otter/Mountain Goat Exhibit

September 2008. The pool is the river otter exhibit, and completely separate yet seemingly connected is the rocky mountain goat habitat. There is a goat eating grass in the top left hand corner of the habitat.

Inside the little building there are two massive viewing windows: one for the river otter and rocky mountain goat exhibits, and one for the grizzly bear exhibit. Some people have called this section of the zoo the best set of zoo habitats in the western hemisphere. It is a favourite past-time of mine to sit down for 10 minutes while I'm at the zoo and simply lean back and absorb the amazingly immersive enclosures.

The entire Northern Trail section of the zoo is staggering in comparison to many other zoos, and it's part of the reason why I listed this zoo in my personal top 5.
