The two species are not mixed - they are held in seperate enclosures?
 
There is a dry moat separating the enclosures, and while it can be seen from certain vantage points the design is rather clever. Just like the grizzly bear exhibit next door, it is often next to impossible to figure out where the enclosures begin and end in the award-winning Northern Trail section of the zoo. This zone includes grizzly bears, rocky mountain goats, Roosevelt elk, river otters, bald eages, arctic foxes, arctic wolves, snowy owls, magpies and porcupines.
