Woodland Park Zoo - Jaguar Cove

September 2008. Brilliant, multi-leveled exhibit that isn't massive but is packed with all sorts of vegetation.

The long glass windows are superb for large crowds of visitors, something that the Miami Metrozoo lacks in its brand new jaguar habitats.

After seeing Miami and Jacksonville's new exhibits, how does this one stack up overall?

@Ituri: I feel that Jacksonville Zoo has the best jaguar enclosures in North America, with one smaller habitat with lots of vertical space and one extremely large, naturalistic exhibit that is the highlight of the zoo. Woodland Park Zoo's smaller jaguar enclosure is second on my list, as it is packed with vegetation but lacks the size of Jacksonville. Miami Metrozoo's two, brand-new jaguar enclosures are well planted but too small, and the viewing windows are quite disappointing. They are decent exhibits, but just not as great as the enclosures in Jacksonville and Woodland Park.

This looks like it is better than Jacksonville's. It is more lush and I like how it does not revolve around a temple.

Snowleopard just so you know in a year or so, Miami will allow the two jaguars access to both habitats at a time when they start breeding them. The two enclosures are already of a decent size (in my opinion), but when they are combined the jaguars will have double the space.
