Conservation Aviary

July 2009.
Are these exhibits open year-round? Or are the birds pulled inside in the winter?

@Ituri: there are times in the winter when the Conservation Aviary area of the zoo is closed, but I'm not sure how cold it has to get for that to happen. The cranes and waterfowl aviary seem to never close, but the smaller aviaries do shut down with snow and other extreme conditions.

A couple of months ago I took photos of each aviary and listed the species in the ZooChat galley, but I do understand that there are pages of photos to wade through before anyone could locate the other Conservation Aviary shots and it would be quite time-consuming. Here are some of the bird species in this area of the zoo: Bali mynah, Palawan peacock pheasant, Red-knobbed hornbill and Wrinkled hornbill, but there are several more on top of that short list.
