Malayan Tapir Exhibit

when i was there the male and the female were seperated....i see that they are now toghter
 
Actually they are still separated, in two different enclosures. The tapir with the female is their offspring, but off of the top of my head I can't remember if the youngster is a female or male. The "baby" is so big now that from this photo I have no idea which is the mother and which is her now fully grown daughter/son.
 
@phoenix: I've read all about the malayan tapirs suffering from blindness in Australian zoos, but I have no knowledge of any problems outside of Oz. Certainly in Seattle there is enough rain and shade within the enclosure to keep the tapirs seeing perfectly clearly.:)
