The pair of orangutan exhibits in Seattle have massive trees for the apes to climb, although certain branches cannot sustain the weight of a full-grown orangutan. Opened in 1995 they are still very impressive, and the criticism that I could offer would be that if the apes are on the ground outdoors then they can mainly be seen by looking down upon them from a high boardwalk. Also, due to the heavy rainfall in the Seattle area the orangs are often content to remain in their cozy indoor areas.
