Woodland Park Zoo - Snow Leopard Exhibit

September 2008. Spacious, naturalistic enclosure. There is a resting leopard in the mini cave at the top of the photo.

@Ituri: this snow leopard exhibit opened in 1982 at the Woodland Park Zoo, and it has held up quite well for an almost 30-year old exhibit. However, the viewing area is far too small and it can get crowded in the summer. The long-range plan is still for an Asian Highlands loop to complete the Northern Trail area, and the zoo has had enormous success in breeding the species. I think that there have been 28 snow leopards born at the zoo in the past 35 years.
