Sorry, what is kept in this exhibit?

Giraffe, oryx, zebra, ostrich....right snowleopard? Over the years other species have been held here, including Grant's gazelle, secretary bird, Cape teal, knob-billed duck and Egyptian geese. The horizontal dead trees in the background are in an adjacent patas monkey exhibit, seperated by a dry moat. Nearby are visually-contiguous exhibits for weaverbirds, hippos and lions. This exhibit complex is now 30 years old, and remains one of the best I've seen anywhere.

Reduakari beat me to it...and in the process he provided an apt description of the excellent African Savanna at Woodland Park Zoo. Right now there are Grant's gazelles, giraffes, zebras, oryx and a single male ostrich, and my favourite part is the patas monkey exhibit. The monkeys have a lot of space to roam, and in the background there are often either giraffes or zebras munching on food. At exactly 30 years of age it is a testament to the skill of the designers that this immersive landscape still holds up well.
