Otherwise, it's not a bad sized "pit" IMHO. If they changed the front to wood+plexiglass, put down some some plants and maybe netted over the top, this could probably make a decent home for another animal. Small species of cat, marmoset or a bird of some kind, maybe.
I agree tho - great to see that, in its current state at least, it's empty.
