Woodland Park Zoo - Lowland Anoa Exhibit

September 2008. The white building in the background is part of the raptor house, where the birds of prey are kept off exhibit and only brought out for shows.

I find the anoas so interesting and wild looking but I've heard that they're very aggressive and short-tempered

There are currently two yards with lowland anoa, but in the mid-90's the zoo had 3 species in this area: lowland anoa, Japanese serow (a pair are now located in the Temperate Forest zone) and Himalayan goral (no longer at the zoo).

Sichuan Takin was also kept over here at one point. Is the old beaver and otter exhibits still visible from this path?

One day I'm fairly certain that takin will be brought back to the zoo, although it might take another decade for any kind of Asian Highlands zone to complete the Northern Trail loop. Also, I've never noticed any kind of beaver or otter exhibit from this vantage point.

The old beaver exhibit was at the bottom of the hill on which this photo was taken.
