David, the only one of the "new generation of elephant exhibit" I've seen is Elephant Odyssey, so I'm not sure I'm the best judge. That said, I still very much like Woodland Park's elephant exhibit and feel it suits its elephants perfectly well. On my visit all three elephants were together and it appeared all the separate yards were open to them. The elephants themselves were busily engaged in foraging behaviors and seemed perfectly at ease in their environment.
