snowleopard, what are your thoughts of this new otter exhibit with no underwater viewing? unless I am missing something and the Zoo floods the exhibit? it seems a shame that the Zoo doesn't show the otters underwater acrobatics in this new exhibit.

From this photo it almost appears that there is underwater viewing, but the pool is actually quite shallow and it runs along the edge of the glass viewing zone. I knew all along that there would somewhat inexplicably not be underwater viewing, but overall the habitat is very nice and it has a steeply sloping ground area that helps the trickling water that runs down the center of the enclosure. Excellent otter exhibits in American zoos are as common as the species themselves, and this is another solid effort to admire even with the disappointing lack of underwater viewing.
