Wolf Exhibit

March 27th, 2014.
Thanks for the new photos snowleopard. How many grey wolves does Woodland Park Zoo have? And do you know why the ground is so barren, shouldn't there be plants in March already?

There are 4 young, active, female wolves at the zoo, which is probably a major reason for the barren ground in March. It is interesting to note that in the photos below from two separate years (both in April) the wolf exhibit is looking much greener. The last photo, from July, shows a lush environment that is all green with zero bare spots.

I was just digging through my pictures from almost this exact same time last year, and the ground was as equally barren then as it is now. There's a few clumps of greenery here and there, but almost 100% dirt. Which is odd because the back exhibit with the...uh, hoofed things is completely green.
