Humboldt Penguin Exhibit

June 8th, 2014.
I was very impressed with this exhibit, great size and brilliant visitors area. Much better than London Zoo's much-lauded Penguin Beach (built at a similar time). Are there any plans to build any more exhibits in the vicinity to link this exhibit to the adjacent South American exhibits? Its rather disjunct at the moment.

Woodland Park is organized first by bioclimatic zone, secondarily by geography. What you refer to as "South America" is in fact the "Tropical Rainforest" zone (thus lemurs, gorillas, colobus etc. in addition to jaguars and South American birds). The penguin exhibit is the lone finished component of the "Desert" bioclimatic zone. I don't know of any plans to add additional exhibits in the vicinity, although the 2002 master plan shows a proposed building for small desert animals nearby.

I agree this is an excellent penguin exhibit.
