Malayan Tiger Exhibit

March 18th, 2016.
It is interesting to note that this photo was taken on March 18th and I visited the zoo today (May 7th) and while I didn't take a photo I feel it is worth mentioning that the amount of vegetation is considerably more than what it was almost two months ago. A large chunk of the fence-line along the right-hand side of the exhibit is obscured due to thick foliage and it was a struggle to spot a tiger amidst the greenery. I'm still not a huge fan of the new exhibit (it is merely average) but the enclosure does look a lot better with a spring-time "jungle" appearance.

It does look kinda average from your photo. I hope it's more impressive live.

I watched the tigers there get to grow up as cubs. They were born in Little Rock along with a fourth cub, a female still at Little Rock I believe. It was a big deal in Arkansas for a while.

It looks like a good-size exhibit which makes up for some of the lack of aesthetics. But I still say it would be more natural for an Amur tiger or even an Amur leopard.

I actually quite like Banyan Wilds. I think it's problems rest in new exhibit smell, making it lack the vegetation and maturity needed to visually look immersive.
