I haven't been through that area in a year or two! With my wife and I taking our 4 kids to the zoo it is literally impossible to see everything within a single visit...especially with a long lunch, a carousel and the outdoor Habitat Hollow play area all appealing to youngsters. On this past visit we spent 5.5 hours at the zoo but it is also a 5.5 hour round-trip drive to get there, thus creating a very long day.
Areas we often skip:
Conservation Aviaries - birds, birds and more birds...and sort of tucked out of the way.
Northern Trail - a wonderful set of exhibits but set in the upper corner of the zoo and not a loop but instead an annoying dead end.
Tropical House - too cramped for strollers and too hot for the kiddies.
Areas we ALWAYS see:
Bug World - tiny insect house that is beloved.
Family Farm - near to Bug World and a surprisingly popular section for my kids.
Banyan Wilds - otters, sloth bears and tigers in a central location.
Penguins - who doesn't love penguins?
African Savanna - conveniently located with some megafauna species.
