good one. I can see the toucans are Swainson's and Keel-billed and the other bird is a Northern Helmeted Curassow.

The Amazon and Beyond exhibit, along with the Asian River Life exhibit, represent the best exhibits in Metrozoo. For the most part, the rest of their exhibits, although spacious, are incredibly dull and not very visitor-friendly.

How are the exhibits not visitor friendly at Zoo Miami? The countless moated enclosures means that there is zero mesh, glass, bars, wire or other obstructions between humans and the zoo's animals, and it is a dream for photographs due to the wide-open landscape at this open-air zoo. Also, "Wings of Asia" is one of America's truly great walk-through aviaries, and there are very few poor exhibits around the grounds.

Not visitor friendly in the sense that the animals are a mile away. I'm all for giving the animals space, but the ongoing joke is that Metrozoo will have an exhibit the size of a football field for a dik dik. It could also be that I'm jaded because, as a South Florida native, I've been to it several times, and seeing the same grass-and-palm trees exhibits gets boring. I will give credit where credit is due, though, and say that Metrozoo has a solid collection, particularly of ungulates.
