Hi devilfish, I visited Zoo Miami a few weeks before you did and did not have time to see this part of the zoo. Were there live animal exhibits in here, or is it primarily an education facility?
 
Hi David,

There were a few vivaria for some live animals but it was mostly a very nicely done education centre.

Live taxa on display:
- Sinaloan milk snake
- Western hognose snake
- Blue-tongued skink
- Red-sided curly-tailed lizard
- Rosy boa
- (Red) corn snake
- Florida box turtles
 
The facility also houses traveling exhibits almost every year. When I was at Zoo Miami (then known as Miami Metroparks Zoo) in late 2008 there was a reptile display of at least 30 species. The link below lists some of the past temporary exhibits:
