Was red billed malkoha on exhibit when you were there? Old records show the zoo as having one, and since San Diego's male is off exhibit, that would make this the only place to see one if they had it.
That's ok. Not everyone looks at all the birds, and in big aviaries sometimes even bird people have enough. I'll hopefully have a look within a few years.
