It was a solitary specimen. Until a few months ago there were several of these birds in captivity in Cambodia, but the ACCB had recently released all of theirs, and Phnom Tamao had released most of their waterbirds (where possible) to renovate their aviary. This was one of the remaining animals. Luckily I saw this species again in a private facility later in the trip.
