raccoon dog (Nyctereutes procyonoides)

pretty rubbish photo I know. You cannot tell at all, but it was actually really dark where the dog was (under trees, on a very dull day, in the rain) and although I could see it well through binoculars, through the camera viewfinder I could barely see it so the focus was sort of guesswork!!

This was taken in Shanghai but the locality has to be kept secret so the dogs do not get trapped.

Be very happy with that photo. Sometimes you have no choice but to go with what you've got. And I'd be happy with this one!
 
well I'm happy with having got the photos at all. I just wish they would have been better in focus.

I'm not really a photographer, I just like taking photos of things I see. But with wild animals you don't often get the chance for good shots. I'm surprised I even managed to get any photos of a wild raccoon dog to be honest.
