A forlorn looking caged dalmation at the Children's Zoo in Beijing Zoo. Screened off during my visit, this row of enclosures held many breeds of dog. Visitors used to be able to hire them out for a walk. Taken 19 Aug 2008.

shocking, if it was killed by disease then surely it could infect other animals in it's exhibit. If you look around the web link provided says that the photo is from tianjin zoo.
if you search flickr for tianjin zoo there are many more horrible and depressing pictures. sadly it seems that the zoo has giant pandas.
Pretty bad. I mean, I know people might be invreasingly scandalized to see domesticated dogs, with which we have such a strong connection, in these cages, but in any case, this is awful. And Beijing Zoo often makes it in "Top 10 Zoos lists!" Listen, just because you treat one animal species (you know, those vegan bears everyone loves) like royalty and the rest like leftovers doesn't make you a masterpiece!
