Female Golden Snub-nosed Monkey (Rhinopithecus roxellana)

You must feel very privileged to have seen this species. What was the enclosure like? Good photo by the way.

Hi Goura,

Yes, I believe it is a privilege to have seen this species, though I assume any random visitor to the different Chinese zoos (for example Shanghai or Chengdu) will have their chance of seeing these interesting monkeys… ;) Their exhibit is actually very nice. Of course it is one of the main 'attractions' at the zoo, and so there's a whole complex devoted for the Snub-nosed monkeys. I believe the Beijing zoo keeps 3 species!!! I'll post some pictures of this complex soon! :)

The two grey snub-nosed monkeys are kept together, they sometimes put young black and golden snub-nosed monkeys in one enclosure to let them play together, but all breeding families are kept seperately.
