Then the poor little buggers will probably end up as turtle soup at a Chinese restaurant, I would imagine.
 
No, they end up as pets once the kids have paid the lady at the counter at the zoo to catch one of them...
 
They are used in China as food. In fact, the USA exports about 8 million a year.
 
@Hix: Of course they are (they're shipped in tons from Florida, Louisiana etc to China nowadays); yet these poor juveniles are sold at Chengdu Zoo as pets-just like they have several rows of concrete pools at that zoo, where you can fish for goldfish...
