This island was the home of a troop of about 30 Eastern black-and-white colobus until several months ago. When the colobus escaped from the island several times, the zoo had to move the colobus back to off-exhibit area and changed mandrill into this island. The zoo staff told me that there were still some colobus roam freely in the zoo, for example they saw some colobus in the giant panda area the day before that day, but they failed to persuade them back.
