Just a thought. How come there are West African Manatees in captivity only in China and Japan? Or are there more?

Currently without Africa, there are 4 places in the world that we can see them, which are Toba aquarium in Japan (1 M, 2 F), COEX aquarium in South Korea (2 M, 1 F), Hangzhou aquarium in China(1 M, 1 F), Hualian ocean park in Taiwan (2 M). But I can't clearly say that these are the only places we could see West African Manatees, because many aquariums and zoos in the world are trying to get this species nowadays.

It seems that West African manatees are common in Asian zoos, like West Indian manatees are common in North American and European zoos, is there something similar to an AZA species survival plan in Asian zoos for this species ?

Also how did West African manatees get to be so common in East Asia ?

And the aquariums in Yantai and Penglai also have six individuals in total. But it seems that there is no breeding plan in China now. All the west African manatees in China are from Cameroon.
Beijing Zoo used to import a pair of West Indian manatees from Mexico, and they bred thrice. But now they all died :(

Any more detail informations on the species currently hold in zoos and aquariums ?

Chimelong Ocean World in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, has a group of seven West African manatees in a huge fresh-water exhibit with a style similar to Singapore's River Safari, but has a underwater tunnel additionally. You can see their manatee exhibit in this webcam:
?????

However, the manatees in Nanning Zoo disappear :(
