Ahh,I haven't been acquainted but I'd be lying if I said I hadn't heard of Zebraduiker. My complete and sincerest apologies if I stepped on any toes,it is my fault completely for not checking his comment history.
Forgive me: Animal enclosures like these exist throughout the zoo world. It is in no way making it look "better", just a reality check. And we do not need everyone to post that they do not like the exhibit and how on Earth zoo management would allow a primate enclosure like this to remain within a zoo environment.
Be glad that our Chinese Zoo Chat forumsters post their pictures and experiences of zoos in their country and share them with us. It allows us to get a perspective on how Chinese zoos are developing and what is going on.
Some are evidently further down the path of development than others. It is nothing unusual in a country developing a zoo tradition of its own. And let's face it: Prior to 1917 or so one of the only zoos in the country was the Imperial Zoo .. It is not that long ago folks!
Having said this: It will be interesting to see what kind of projects this zoo has in store? And yes: it would be nice if they redevelop their primate area, I guess. I am sure our Chinese forumsters will agree there.
