Reeve‘s muntjac (Muntiacus reevesi), a common species in large Chinese zoos. There are only three muntjac species can be seen in Chinese zoos: Reeve's muntjac, black muntjac and tufted deer. There are no Fea's muntjacs in Chinese zoos, but the species occurs in southwest mountains of Yunnan Province.

Dear baboon,
Before drawing such conclusions, look at the tail of the female.
You forgot to mention the more Red Muntjac (Muntiacus muntjak) and Gongshan Muntjac (Muntiacus gongshanensis), which are also found in Chinese Zoos. An example of this, the Shanghai Zoo - http://www.zoochat.com/1686/muntiacus-gongshanensis-gongshan-muntjac-male-282543/. This is not a Black Muntjak (Muntiacus crinifrons), it Gongshan Muntjac (Muntiacus gongshanensis) (or hybrid ???).
Now interested in your opinion!
I'm no expert however doing some research, the female (back) looks like a Gongshan Muntjac (Muntiacus gongshanensis). The male is definitely a Chinese Muntjac.

Hi, bongowwf,
As I know, the difference between the red-typed Fea's muntjac and other muntjac species is that the Fea's muntjac has a black tail and also has a black stripe along each side of the white rump patch. Therefore, if you look at the female's rump, it is not a Fea's muntjac, but is really a Reeve's muntjac. For Gongshan muntjac, as I know, there is only one individual in captivity, in Kunming Zoology Institute; and to me, I agree the opinion of some Chinese zoologists that the Gongshan muntjac is just a subspecies of Fea's muntjac.
Hi, if Shanghai Zoo has such a rare species like Gongshan muntjac, I believe they will publicize it as broadly as possible, isn't it? But when I search the website, there is no entry about Shanghai Zoo and Gongshan muntjac. And as the Gongshan muntjac's range (high altitude forest of Gaoligong Mountain) doesn't overlap with other similiar species, the zoo can't misidentify it. And I believe Gongshan muntjac is just a subspecies of Fea's muntjac, thus I think the muntjac in the photo is neither Fea's nor Gongshan. For the large zoos in southeast China, which have the highest probability of keeping Fea's or Gongshan muntjac: Nanning Zoo has no muntjac, Chengdu Zoo has Revee's muntjac and tufted deer, and according to Internet, Kunming Zoo also has only Reeve's muntjac. For the red muntjac, although it is a common species in southeast Asian zoos, it is rarely exhibited in Chinese zoos, and I don't hear about any Chinese zoos have this species.

Hi, bongowwf, the linked photo maybe a hybrid, I think..... But as the black muntjac is one of the largest muntjac species, and Reeve's muntjac is the smallest, it is hard to imagine how they hybridize. Maybe a hybrid between black and red muntjac?
