macaque cages

horrible bare cells. The nearest one was the smallest, for Tibetan macaques. Other species in this row were stump-tailed, Assamese, pig-tailed, crab-eating and rhesus macaques. The Tibetan and Assamese macaques in particular were grossly overweight from public feeding (which is not actually allowed at all but that does not stop anyone of course).

The primate cages really let the side down for Shanghai Zoo. Very very poor indeed.
