if you've got the Robson guide just be aware that the babbler plates are shockingly poor. They look nice unless you have to actually use them to identify the birds in the field! The shapes and postures are totally wrong in most of them. The bulbuls aren't much better.
(And I'll assume you've got the Charles M. Francis mammal guide to southeast Asia? Very good book)
I've got the Helm mammal, bird and reptile guides for SE Asia. They're all coming with us but I'll probably only carry the bird one actually on me. Only arrived yesterday but they look good so far.
EDIT: which means I do have the (latest edition of) the Robson book. Will bear your words in mind! This edition says it has over 100 improved illustrations if I recall, so hopefully it's better!
