signage for white tiger

According to this sign, the current White Tigers at Alipore(Kolkata) Zoo are descended from the 2nd litter of White tigers produced by the original breeding pair(Mohan x his daughter Radha). These were two white males and a normal female. I wonder if there has been any outcrossing since- if not they will be very inbred by now.

From memory the destinations of the first three litters of White tigers produced by the Maharaja of Rewa were;

Litter 1. (4 cubs, all white.) Female to Washington. Male & Female to Delhi Zoo. Female retained by Maharaja of Rewa.

Litter 2.(3 cubs; 2 white males, normal female). All three(?) sent to Alipore Zoo. Males sold to them, female on loan?

Litter 3(4 cubs all white 2 died) surviving Male & Female sold to Bristol Zoo UK.

I give them credit for not hiding the fact that he was intentionally bred with his daughter. (I have seen other places say it was an accidental breeding, which is ridiculous).

However, they do downplay the method he was acquired from the wild. They state the fact that he was captured by the Maharajah but they fail to mention the reason he was captured is the Maharajah had just shot his mother on a tiger hunting expedition.

As for whether there has been outbreeding, I do not know about zoos in India but here in the United States the answer is yes. I know many on this forum will not agree with me, but some (not all) breeders have done a good job at outbreeding and are now producing healthy white tigers (and golden tabby tigers).
