enclosure for serow (Capricornis sp)

I was surprised at the colour of the serow in this enclosure (red) because I have only seen the southeast Asian (sub)species before. Apparently the serow in Assam is the Himalayan serow (Capricornis thar) but the one at this zoo looks exactly like the photos I have now seen through googling of red serow (C. rubidus) which according to the more authoritive sources is restricted to Burma. having said that serow taxonomy is all over the place.

There should be a photo of the animal itself uploaded in due course (it is on my big camera and I am currently going through the photos from my small camera).

For everything else at the zoo, see my review here: http://www.zoochat.com/254/visit-assam-state-zoo-guwahati-10-a-358287/

The Himalaya serow can also be red, but the hair base of Himalaya serow is white, while true red serow's hair base is black ~~
