view into the zoo museum

a glass-sided building housing what I suspect are former inhabitants of the zoo. Photo taken looking lengthwise down the building.

Closest to the fore in this shot are several Sumatran tigers and orang-utans, a Sunda clouded leopard (at right) and an Asiatic golden cat (bottom middle)

There are many strange and unusual photos to be seen on Zoochat, but this surely takes the biscuit as the most surreal.

Poor specimens. They don't deserve to be stacked like this, but rather should reside inside a decent museum building, in cosy glass cases, protected from humidity, sunlight & pests.

they aren't stacked, but I don't think the specimens really care how they get treated. Anyway, at this zoo there will probably always be a continuous supply of new bodies.

looks like stuff offered for sale at Pier I Import Store. I do not see the guacamale mounted cane toad mariache band or the sausage cobra mounted around a mounted mongoose.

I remember a dream I had where the Bronx Zoo kept specimens in one of their unused animal houses... the inside was just like this and I even tried to reference this zoo but it was the wrong Indonesian zoo.
