Weird looking fish

I don't think so. The long anal fin is characteristic of the Gymnotiform knifefishes. I guess it's a Rhamphichthys species as several of them have long snouts like many of the mormyrids.

Sorry, you're right that it's a knifefish; I was just being an idiot. Here's a full body shot which I took in February:

We couldn't find any known species which matches, and the aquarium staff later told me that it was yet to be described. Can you think of anything known which fits?

The sign is japanese but I knew chinese so I knew a little bit about the sign and it said it was a new species of fish.
