All of the Asiatic lions in Japan are purebred. Zoorasia has 5 lionesses- the male has recently been transferred to Nogeyama because he kept on falling into the moat. The 10 Asiatic lions currently living in Japan are all related to each other; I am not sure if they have plans to obtain any from abroad.
In addition to Asiatic lions, Zoorasia will also be displaying African lions in their African savanna zone, which will be opened in April 2015.
