Wild Boar?

Enclosure signage ID'd this as a Wild Boar but it looks to me to be too big / wrong shape to be a Wild Boar. Can someone please advise?

domestic pig for me. They both look far too bulky and wrong shape to be wild pigs, unless they are staggeringly overweight (I mean they obviously are overweight, but they still look domestic).

I guess in the wild this specimen wouldn't have a change to survaive so I also think it's a domesticated breed ( pot-bellied comes to mind ).

I believe this is called a 'mei-shan'; standard old fashioned Chinese domestic pig. Pot-bellied pigs have snub noses.

I did originally think pot-bellied but I agree that the snout is far too pronounced. Unfortunately I'm not too hot on domestic species so will go with FBBird and his analysis! :D

I see some Wild boar like features, but like Chlidonias said, I definitely see Domestic pig in that specimen, could it possibly be a Wild boar and Domestic pig hybrid ?

It honestly does not look like a full Mei shan pig to me, Mei shan pigs have more droopy ears and more wrinkles on the face
