These aviaries used to be in a much better shape than they're in now. When I first visited Malaysia in 2005, these aviaries were heavily planted, and housed a magnificent array of Oriental birds, from Birds of Paradise to finches and bulbuls. Now, they are a bit run down and essentially empty. Most of visitors don't even look at them, and thus simply pass by.
