Zoo Negara Malaysia - Brown Bear exhibit

Brown Bear exhibit.

This enclosure has lush, green foliage on the outside, and nothing but sadness on the inside. Another crappy bear prison in a zoo.

I truly agree with you, but mind you that Zoo Negara actually has some very good exhibits, including those for big cats. The bear complex is basically the only totally weak bit.

I'd need to check my photos - but I've got such a strong memory of this exhibit I must have taken a photo. I think it was Striped Hyaenas in 2001.

By all means check your photos please. The complex was marked for bears only but things may have changed in seven years.

Having checked - I was right that I took a picture of this exhibit but wrong with the species - it was Brown Bears in 2001 as well. The hyaenas were further round.

Looking through these old shots makes me curse my somewhat entry-level photographic skills at that time - some lovely shots of brown blobs that are Greater Malay Chevrotain, Masked Palm Civets, Flat-headed Cats...
