I suppose it's possible but let's be honest, the two Berlins do tend to do whatever they like. Some of the newer constructions don't follow regular animal husbandry guidelines to say the least and their "stamp collecting" is another act of rebellion so who knows...???
When i went to Tierpark, i saw a sign for african lions, but not asiantic in the other half of the enclosure, perhaps thats down to poor signage. whos litter are the two young males from? the africans im guessing?
this photo shows the cage which now has a group of bonnet macaques in it. The zoo has got rid of almost all its monkeys and these cages are now largely used for housing hornbills. The only monkeys currently at the zoo are the bonnet macaques, and one old lion-tailed macaque and one old stump-tailed macaque. Other primates are siamang and white-handed gibbons in some of these cages; and orangs and chimps elsewhere in the zoo.
